Just Us Sisters, LLC is a non-profit organization offering mentoring programs that serve Baltimore city and neighboring county residents; created in response to increasing systemic obstacles impacting mothers from low-income communities.  Our results-driven approach ensures that we achieve our goals to promote education, empowerment and growth through supported mentorship and sisterhood from young professionals who’ve overcome adversity.

Just Us Sisters seeks to inspire, coach and support mothers and their daughters who have the odds stacked against them.  Plainly put, we transform women and youth from statistics into success stories.

The Mission
The mission of Just Us Sisters is to provide guidance and mentorship to multi-generational families living in poverty. Through supported, professional one-on-one mentoring, we positively enhance the lives of the families we touch by improving their interpersonal skills, ensuring their economic stability, and propelling them toward healthy living.
The Vision
Through sisterhood our vision is to provide guidance to low-income families and support efforts to eliminate poverty and thrive within the value system they aspire to achieve. Sisterhood, education and entrepreneurship serves as the foundation for developing total self sufficiency.
The Team

Felicia Wessels


Felicia Wessels on the surface is an extremely accomplished President, CEO and founder of Just Us Sisters. With over 15 years of experience in areas of workforce development, corporate training, women’s empowerment and program management Felicia has a hands on approach that holds both staff and clients accountable while consistently ensuring the long-term viability of every project she leads. She considers herself a 360-degree leader and developer who has produced healthy enduring results for clients such a state social service agencies and corporate executives. More than a leader, Ms. Wessels is a person who positively influences and persuades people; whose opinion is highly sought after and whose judgment is respected and trusted.

Felicia earned her M.S. in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College where she reignited her passion for leadership, organizational transformation and entrepreneurship. Felicia constantly challenges herself to endure the quest of one of the most complex relationships of them all, sisterhood, while continually making a conscious effort to embrace her core values of God, Family and women’s empowerment. Felicia is most fulfilled when helping people to grow spiritually, personally and professionally; her vision and ability to nurture relationships leads to long-term solutions and successes.

Rhonesha Howerton


Rhonesha Howerton, wears several hats in the entrepreneur arena. She currently serves as the Owner and CEO of Credit Medics, LLC, Co-Founder of Go Get Crowned nonprofit organization and Co-Owner of Get Well Urgent Care medical facility.

Coming from a poverty-stricken neighborhood and having escaped the statistics, Howerton has found her purpose and passion which is encouraging others, and helping them to reach their fullest potential and cheering them on to the finish line.

In addition to motivational speaking, Rhonesha also serves as a small business and finance coach for clients throughout the U.S.

Deshia Fontenot


Deshia Marie Fontenot is the owner of Designing Minds Childcare, with over 25 years of experience in the human service field she has worked for the Philadelphia Prison System, Juvenile Probation Department and Elwyn Inc, just to name a few. Ms Fontenont is the recipient of the 2008 Safe and Sound Inc, Youth Worker of the Year award presented by the Department of Human Services.

Ms. Fontenot delights in the opportunity to influence, empower and enhance any life she connects with. An active member and recipient of the Most Aspiring Group awarded by the Urban Affairs Coalition for her collaboration with the Police Athletic League for youth at risk. Deshia has a B.S in Human Services, Magna Cum Laude from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Deshia’s most rewarding work is being a mother of five and dedicated wife.

Lisa Posey


Lisa Posey is a fun-loving individual who believes in God and family first. Her motto is something her grandfather always told her, “You’re gonna get the lesson until you get the lesson”. So she believes every moment of life is a moment to learn, teach and inspire others to be the best version of themselves. Lisa is a pre-licensed professional counselor. She has experience in Applied Behavior Analysis, Mental Health Counseling, Education and Human Service Administration. Former role held was working with intellectually disabled individuals and families and facilitating the acclamation to the community. She also served as a Primary School Teacher in both Camden and Trenton, NJ. She carries a plethora of clinical experience including treatment for trauma, relationship counseling, spiritual exploration, depression, anxiety and health recovery. She has been a mental health program director, corporate trainer, and community and school educator. Recent workshops delivered include stress management for single mothers and depression and anxiety. Lisa currently holds a Master’s degree in Human Service Administration and is currently completing a second Master’s in Mental Health at Springfield College and is certified in Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Lisa is the proud mother of two wonderful young men.

Kelly Alexander


Kelly is a dedicated single mother of one and has overcome many obstacles in her life to be one of a few people in her family to attend college.

Ms. Alexander has a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Justice from Rowan University and has held roles in fields related to customer service, behavioral health, and an at home businesses. For the past 12 years she has been a Probation Officer in Trenton, NJ.

Kelly is a firm believer in working hard to be able to play hard. She enjoys attending and participating in festivals, concerts and charity events as well as traveling with family and friends.

Kelly loves God, her family and has an affection for music and fashion. She loves to surround herself with people who encourage and support each other and is inspired and fulfilled by helping others achieve greatness.
